Isabelle McRae

Isabelle is a lead consultant at Laval Consultations, specializing in Public Policy.


Isabelle is an independent expert in economic connectivity and geopolitics. Over her consulting career, she has supported entities worldwide in securing millions in funding from foundations, governments, corporate partners, and investors, particularly in Middle Eastern and Eurasian markets. 


A political scientist-turned-entrepreneur, Isabelle specializes in politics and market entry in Turkey, the South Caucasus, and Central Asia. She leads the Economic Connectivity Armenia-Azerbaijan Dialogue Series (ECAADS) together with the Hertie School, a Track II initiative supported by the EU, German Foreign Ministry, and FCDO. 


An experienced author and speaker, Isabelle is passionate about regional development and social impact entrepreneurship, with her work featured in academic journals, leading UK news outlets, and policy platforms. She is the co-founder of Cambridge Strategic Simulations - a Cambridge University spin- out providing immersive crisis exercises for leadership teams.


Isabelle holds a BA summa cum laude in Global Studies from Portland State University and a Master's in Conflict Studies with Distinction from the London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE).
